Old Fort Madison Preservation, Inc. was formed in March 2024 by local history enthusiasts in Fort Madison, IA. Our grassroots effort was compelled to take action to make plans to improve the deteriorating and partially razed Old Fort replica. We plan to rebuild a modern museum for all to enjoy that maintains the rustic look of the original 1808 Fort.
Old Fort Madison Preservation, Inc. is committed to preserving history in a way that is respectful, inclusive, and sustainable. We believe that Historic Old Fort Madison has many stories to tell, and we strive to honor those stories by preserving them for future generations.
So far, we have a total of 234 members in Old Fort Madison Preservation, Inc. Because of your overwhelming support and generous contributions, we have already raised over $140,000. We are very grateful for your support. We have a lot of work ahead of us, and your donations will help us get it done.
We believe that historical preservation is a shared responsibility, and we welcome your support and participation. Whether you're interested in volunteering or making a donation to support our work, there are many ways to get involved with Old Fort Madison Preservation, Inc. Our open members meetings are held the third Monday of every month at 6pm at the Eagles Club in Fort Madison, Iowa.
